After averaging 40 points in three games, Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Iverson recorded back-to-back 40-point games for the third time this season, scoring 41 against Seattle on January 9 and 46 against Utah last Wednesday. He finished the week with his 10th double-double of the season, collecting 33 points and 10 assists in a triple-overtime win over Boston last Friday.
Iverson shot nearly 54 percent from the floor and averaged 9.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds in the three games.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett won Western Conference honors.
Garnett averaged 24.3 points on 59 percent shooting along with 14.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists in three games last week. He scored a season-high 31 points on 14-of-17 shooting in a 103-89 win over Denver last Friday.
Guards Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns and forward Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz were among the Western Conference nominees.
