Allen Iverson had a touch of the flu, but Glenn Robinson felt just fine.

Robinson scored all but two of his season-high 26 points in the first half to pick up the slack for Iverson and lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 97-81 victory over the New Jersey Nets, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

The NBA's leading scorer, Iverson did not make a basket in the first half. But the 76ers still bolted to a 55-38 lead behind Robinson, who made 11-of-15 shots, most of them jumpers.

"That's what I've been searching for," said Robinson, one of the best mid-range shooters in the game. "I had a couple 5-for-15 and 4-for-17 games, and that's been very frustrating."

Robinson scored Philadelphia's first nine points and had 15 in the first quarter, helping open a 26-17 advantage. His three-pointer made it 48-27 with 3:02 left in the first half.

"Glenn was phenomenal," 76ers coach Randy Ayers said. "That's the Glenn Robinson we all remember, when he can go on a roll and really hit some big shots."

"I did a really (bad) job on Glenn Robinson to start off the game," Nets forward Richard Jefferson said. "Not that I was relaxing on him, but he got some good looks and then the ball started going his way and he started to hit some shots."

After making his only shot of the second half early in the third quarter, Robinson encountered foul trouble and sat for most of the final 24 minutes.

"It was fun to see him out there doing his thing," Iverson said. "I don't remember too many games - besides probably Larry Bird or somebody like that - score 26 points on all jumpers. It was just fun to watch."

Iverson finally sank a jumper with 2:14 left in the period and drained a three-pointer to close the quarter and give the Sixers a 79-62 lead. He finished with 17 points on 4-of-16 shooting and added 11 assists.

"I realized how much I was struggling tonight," Iverson said. "I was out there kind of lightheaded. I think that's just from having the flu."

"He was under the weather this morning, but he did go through walk-through," Ayers said. "He knew what our game plan was going into the game and his presence helps us."

The Nets started the game without suspended forward Kenyon Martin and ended it without All-Star point guard Jason Kidd, who suffered a sprained left middle finger with 7:01 remaining and did not return. X-rays were negative.

"We'll see how it feels tomorrow," Kidd said. "I'm glad that it's not broken, but the big thing is that it's going to be sore for the next couple of days."

Eric Snow had 16 points and 10 assists, Kenny Thomas swept 11 rebounds and Samuel Dalembert pulled down 10 for the Sixers, who shot 53 percent (39-of-73) and held the Nets to 38 percent (30-of-79).

Jefferson scored 20 points and Kerry Kittles added 19 for the Nets, who were beaten on the boards, 48-30. They have lost four of their last five meetings with the Sixers.
