I'm sure the boo's are still ringing in Kobe's ear. So really, why did the Philly fans boo him? I got this off SLAM links from a Philly native that should explain it all.

Dear Kobe: What's up? My name is Dawn and I live in Philly.

I know what you are thinking. This is headed for trouble, right? Not really. I'm just writing to clarify exactly why Philly booed you when you won M.V.P. in this year's All-Star Game. It wasn't because we don't respect your game. It's not the fact that you won the Finals against Philly last year. It's what you said during the game press conferences and to the papers that killed the love. You just point blank lost us when you said something to the effect of "I don't really care what Philly thinks about me. I am a Laker now. Philly is not really important to me any more." Dumb move.

Every body already knew your history kid, or did you forget. The Practices at Temple, Lower Merion High, your Dad playing here, introducing you to ball and your family moving to L.A to support you. Don't forget where you came from. Philly remembers stuff especially as far as sports is concerned. It is simple really, don't forget where you came from and we won't forget you. Forget us and you will forever live in misery. You wouldn't diss Italy would you? I think not. Believe me it would have been the exact same result if Rasheed Wallace had dumped on Philly. What if his Airness dissed Carolina? What about Iverson and Virginia? Will Smith? Dr. J. Enough said.

K.B your game is silly, funky, and stupid. However, #8, to be a true champion you must learn to talk, walk, and be humble like a champion. Your confidence is not the problem. It's the whole arrogance vibe that sucks.

(One more word of advice, never ever try to make nice after dissing a place unless it is an apology then it just looks like a bad PR job. I'm out.)

i hope the boo's are still ringing in his ear,he deserved it.To say that about philly then go around flaunting the sixers no.23 jersey in honor of his father is just stupid.what did he expect?then almost breaking down & crying after the game,man he's got alot to learn still.
iverson was booed in the rookie game when he won mvp,and even to this day cleveland fans boo him but does he ever complain? no he does not! he knows those fans are in some way just showing respect for him and even if they are swearing their heads off,attacking allen personally it never effects him.
just my two cents on the whole situation anyway....

Just to clarify things I am a sixers fan forever, all my love goes out to the sixers and A.I. But at the all star game that was messed up how Philly treated Kobe. I really don't like Kobe but he seemed hurt by the conduct. I know Kobe dissed Philly but 2 wrongs don't make a right. And after showing that he had feelings about what people thought about him, I guess i Kinda like him more now. Sorry for the booing Kobe.

Here's another article: City receiving a bum rap on booing of Bryant. Actually, only 3,000 of the 20,000 people at the FU Center were Philly fans (season ticket holders), since the NBA controls the tickets for the wealthy: sponsors, celebs, etc. Also, was the fact that Kobe was putting up more shots than anyone, obviously going for the MVP. But still, I feel bad for Kobe. He's human, and the effect of having 20,000 booing you has a big emotional effect.

I'm a hardcore Sixers fan till the day I die. And I never really liked Kobe. Not because he's good and I was hatin', but because he has a HUGE ego. And after they interviewed him and he said that his feelings were hurt, I actually felt kinda bad for him. However, Ethan said that only 3000 of the fans there were Philly fans. Therefore to have 17000 other people booing at you means you must have done something wrong. It basically comes down to the fact that he isn't humble. Iverson is amazing...and I'm sure he knows it. But what does the tatoo on his neck say? "loyal". When Iverson won his MVP he wore a shirt that had the name of his hometown. He doesn't forget where he came from...he keeps it real. People are saying Kobe is the next Michael Jordan, but Allen doesn't need to be and doesn't want to be the next Mike. Allen makes a name for himself. Which is why Allen is the ANSWER and Kobe...I don't know...he's just #8.

yo i think the fans should have booed kobe b/c kobe has a bad attitude. Idon't know if he didn't have that attitude when he was in philly but he just thinks he's better than every than everybody else which he isn't. I use to like kobe but now he just is so snotty i don't like him anymore. I think the fans were right b/c they know how kobe has been acting. I hope the boos keep coming. p.s. Allen doesn't actually get the red carpet rolled out for him when he goes to L.A. so kobe shouldn't when he comes over here.

Dissing philly isn't considered treachery to the rest of the American pro sports watching population. Oh yeah, and if you didn't notice, Philly's never been a bastion of good will or class.
