i love AI for his heart... he's accomplished so much contrary to how he was labeled by local law enforcement, the media, and the judicial system when he was in high school... despite being sent to the farm on a "maiming by mob" rap (a law which was passed, ironically, to protect minorities in the jim crow south).

i love him because he's never the first to air his grievances in the media, nor does he actively seek adulation for his charitable work...

i respect him because of the way he's remained loyal to his fans in Hampton/ Newport Blues AND Philly despite the scathing and self-congratulatory criticism(s) espoused by an elite minority and at his expense..(Eskin, anyone?). He not only tolerates it but is perceptive enough to know that THEY do not speak for US.

Surely, I get carried away writing about AI, however, i tend to think that any rational observer with an unbiased opinion would find it hard to find the "thug" in him. Occasionally emotional or immature? Maybe. Having been a stupid teenager? Who wasn't? Got in a raging argument with his girl/ wife? Who hasn't? Got into a fight in H.S.? Unheard of! (sic)

A family friend prosecuted him on a gun charge way back when,even though he was (as I understand it) just a passenger in the vehicle. I can't help but think that he's been accused of the very same lapses my little brother has, BUT because of his race (yes, his race, i said it) and his unwillingness to conform he (AI) has been treated differently. A "good ol' boy" like my brother is guilty of nothing more than being a good ol' boy... Boys will be boys, etc. Iverson, on the other hand, is labeled as a thug. Yet he rarely complains, nor does he make excuses when he knows he is wrong or apologize when he has nothing to be sorry for...

That's why I love AI. accuse me of being a sycophant if not overly sentimental and melodramatic. i don't care...

i wouldnt say that i love him cause it takes more than readin up on a persons every move and his looks to love him .... i dont kno how he is when its him solo with that special someone you got to be around a person physically and mentally to know that you love them .... but i like his i dont give a fuc ima b who i am no matter what you say and how you judge me attitude
