i would hope in his 8th season he wouldn't give a damn. i'm saying i don't want to hear it. now kobe on the other hand has been getting booed all season especially in colorado. did he really think the philly fans were going to come down that hard on him. there's got to be another reason why he didn't show up last night. all the sh*t he's been through he can't be that weak. Well then again i don't know. philly did boo the hell out of destiny's child and they were bootylicious. |

Sixers Notes | Bryant decides to skip the Lakers' visit

The Kobe Bryant watch began about two hours before last night's game between the 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Wachovia Center. At least that's what Lakers coach Phil Jackson led Kobe watchers to believe.
But instead of showing up at the Wachovia Center, where he was booed mercilessly after being named MVP of the 2002 All-Star Game, Bryant skipped the game.
He later had his agent inform the Lakers that he would meet up with them in Orlando, Fla., the next stop on their seven-game road trip.
Bryant, a graduate of Lower Merion High, was on the injured list because of a lacerated right index finger and was not eligible to play last night. But Jackson seemed to be expecting him.
"He can have a couple of days to be with us in this situation, join his teammates," Jackson said before the game. "He can see how we're playing. He'll see firsthand what we're going through right now as far as the way we're playing the game. He's supportive, and his teammates are supportive of him."

Then last night, Jackson said Bryant would arrive on a plane between 4 and 5 p.m. When he addressed the media about 6 o'clock, he still hadn't heard from him.
Even Shaquille O'Neal didn't know where Bryant was, asking reporters before the game whether he had shown up.
Jackson acknowledged before the game that the crowd could be tough on Bryant but said he would send him to the locker room if things got ugly.
But he added, "This is his hometown, after all." |
